Amazing "in gym" shoe. Runners beware though.

So I've gone through a lot of shoes...a LOT of shoes. I'll go through the last few including these though.Inov8 Flite 235v2: Stupid name, best feeling shoe(besides the Flite 235v1), not durable enough for Crossfit.Metcon 2: Too heavy, not very flexible, doesn't breathe well, squeaks when walking...just not a good shoe.Metcon 3: Lighter than the Metcon 2, more breathable, good looking. Lot of heel slip and....squeak.Nobull: Gorgeous shoe. Light weight. Tough as nails. Super Fabric is legit. Website says the super fabric is breathable. It's not. Hot shoe. Now to the UA shoes: If somebody went back in time and fixed almost everything about the Nike Metcon 2's, then had that shoe make sweet love to the Metcon 3...then the child have a 2mm drop (which is the SWEET SPOT)...you get this UA shoe. They're called the Tri-Base Reign. I think Amazon has them under a different name. They should just be called the "Reign" because they take the best of every shoe (other than weight) and do it right.Great shoe! Buy with confidence. I have not had the heel slip problem that others have mentioned.Update: After a few workouts, the shoe is awesome for everything but running. Even 400m or so at a time is pretty harsh.

I wanted a second pair and, well, here we are.

I previously bought the Under Armour Tribase Reign (in red) for my workouts. I really enjoyed them so i decided to buy a second pair in Black/Gum. Nothing has changed, these shoes are as great as their older brothers. First off, i really like the look of these shoes; they are very simple or minimal and not chunky or overdressed if you will. I looked into getting the Metcom 5's but the aesthetic is not as attractive to me. Now, the look is not as important as the performance and these perform great. To begin the laces stay in place; the shoelace openings are designed in a way so that once you pull the laces tight they face resistance so that they don't slide back easily. The laces also rarely untie themselves with vigorous movement. In the time i've had the red pair the laces have come undone twice. Not a serious issue, but i don't want my shoes to come undone every time i workout. Also, i'm 5'8" with narrow feet and the shoes feel right and snug. The flexibility of these shoes is great. I love the bend these shoes have at the toes. Planks, burpies, lunges, and so on, are given full range of motion in these shoes. Arch support is solid and heel support is great. The base of the shoe slightly flares out to enhance stability. In a perfect world i would give these shoes a five star rating, but the shoe design not perfect. The collar of the shoe can bite into the back of your lower leg. Now, if you wear socks then it may not be a problem, but if you go barefoot that you may find the collar to be uncomfortable. I can live with that flaw considering that a good pair of socks that extend slightly past the collar solves the issue.Overall, i really enjoy the look and performance of these shoes. But, hey, this is just one man's opinion.

Good for what they’re made for—style is a little “meh”

These fit pretty well and work well for strength training / lifting. I haven’t tried running in them, but I don’t think they’re really meant for that as there’s not a lot of cushion. Not completely sold on the style—for some reason I’m always a little self-conscious about how they look when I wear them in the gym. Would probably look less like old man shoes with extremely low cut socks. Noticed some deformation in one of the toe boxes while doing calf extensions but it went away once returned to its normal unflexed position. I’ll keep an eye on this and update my review if any permanent creases appear. This is my first pair of Under Armour shoes, and I wasn’t sure about giving them 5 stars, mainly because of the price for what you get. I feel like you’re mostly paying for the tiny little red logo on the heel, but there’s really nothing wrong with the shoe.

Great Gym Shoe!!

I waited a week before writing on this shoe. I have to say I was very impressed right out the door on how much of a difference this shoe made in my lifting. The level of support was amazing. Not only did it feel that I had improved stability when preforming dead lifts, squats and overhead press, but I had a reduction in discomfort in my right foot that I had experiences while using other training shoes. I would highly recommend this shoe for anyone who is a avid weight lifter. Now one thing I would point out is I do not think this would make a good running shoe even though it is listed as a possible use. To me this shoe does not have the support for jogging or heavy sprinting. That would be my only con on this shoe.

Loving them as a purpose driven lifting and HIIT shoe!

Have been in these for a week now and done both HIIT style and Oly workouts and can say they are some of my favorites to date.Pros:Inspires confidence from a stability and feel perspective, felt grounded and responsiveLightSolid constructionAesthetics are on point IMOCons:These require break in, not a whole lot but the nature of the show leaves it very stiff where it shouldn’t be for a bitRunning for over a mile was uncomfortable AF, I’m aware they are in no way running shoes and I personally have purpose driven shoes for all manners of exercise but these were dreadful to run in so if you are looking for a do it all shoe, this isn’t it

Uncomfortable

I don't like the hard feeling inside the shoes it becomes very uncomfortable after a while. They need to improve on that because you need to be comfortable walking in a shoes.
