These barefoot shoes were very comfortable out of the box. I did switch out the tubular laces for some dark red elastic no tie laces. Much better look! Attached are pictures of the original laces and the new laces. I love the no tie laces I purchased!
I am a believer now. I was asked to get these shoes a long time ago. I thought it was dumb. After a complete hip replacement and now I'm doing my knee. My doctor asked me if I've ever had a grounding. (Isn't that what your parents did when you were late coming home from the roller rink?) I have pretty bad feet. I usually wear orthotics don't needthem. These are wonderful. The only issue I may have in the future is wearing shoes.!
I broke a bone in my right foot in my early twenties. In my mid seventies it became increasingly painful. Went to a podiatrist. He recommend shoes with thick foam soles to give the foot maximum protection. I followed his instructions and things got slowly worse to the point I felt I might loose my ability to walk in my old age. Then YouTube sent me a random video on barefoot shoes. I was skeptical, but tried these. Almost immediately things improved. Two months later I am pain free. My conclusion is the key is to use the foot muscles - not protect them and quit scrunching them into constricting spaces. My only complaint is the laces are too long - makes tieing a pain.
Feel and fits great, also toe box doesn’t look too wide.
