I've been looking for a couple years for five fingers that fit well (after my last pair wore out). Not only do these fit like a glove with the adjustable laces, but I adore the khaki color!
The shoes looks really nice and I love the minimalist ground feel. It does seem to run a little small, the 36 feels more like a size 5.5. My feet are more of a small size 6 so this works fine. They are a little tight and difficult to put on, but other than that, I didn't have sore feet or achy back after my 1 hr hike up a rocky and pebbly mountain. Hopefully this last a few seasons, Vibram just don't last that long for me.
For those that run in minimalist shoes, and whose feet have already adapted to this style of shoe, the V-Alpha is one of the better options. I use these for distances from 5k-10 miles (street and trail) down to 25 degrees Fahrenheit/-4 degrees Celcius (anything colder than that or if there is snow and slush on the ground I switch to the insulated version). The traction on the soles of these shoes are on point - my last two runs were on frost covered asphalt, frozen and wet leaves, and frost and partial thawed mud and dirt trails. It is nice not to have to slow your pace for fear of slipping and sliding. They really do grip well and still give a nice fit with good ground feel. The sewing on the pair I recieved was perfect, my number one complaints for Vibrams - still after many years - is that they don't seem to have any quality controld on checking the inseams, etc, for the toe pockets and other areas for any excess material that would cause rubbing and chafing. This pair was perfectly sewn and the fit was great right out of the gate. In normal street shoes and work shoe's I wear a 7.5-8 for women. For this pair I ordered the 39 (8-8.5 for women) and it fit great. Also love that you don't have to tie any laces....
i am beyond sad and disappointed, i was so excited to wear these just for them to hurt my big toes sooooo bad. there’s something incredibly wrong with the stitching that just penetrates deep into my big toe’s skin and it’s so painful. it’s very ironic considering how these are supposed to be a comfortable shoe & good for your feet. giving 2 stars because the fit is perfect only problem is the stitching from the inside that pains me.
I love these shoes and they're a lot nicer looking than the picture. The color are more of a grayish khaki tint.Just got finished with my jog in them they were comfortable, I did 3 miles on a paved bike trail. They run slightly bigger than I expected, but the adjustable laces fixed that. I appreciate the added space so I can eventually wear socks in them.
I wear a 39 in all Vibram models but couldn't fit my foot into this one. Runs 2 sizes smaller than any other 39 by them.
