Love the boots - except for the clicking

My orig order was returned because there was a clicking sound in one of the heels while walking. Like something has separated in the heel. The replacement pair was great - until a couple of weeks ago (6mos after purchase) when the clicking in the new pair started. It's not extremely loud, but it is noticeable and annoying. So now I have to search for yet another pair after essentially wasting my money on this pair. I have purchased Vionic in the past, but direct, not thru amazon, and have loved them.

Really wanted to love them but they have to go back

I've been having a hard time finding ankle boots this past season. Since I have flat feet with over pronation, it is especially tough. I had heard some good things about Vionic and their comfort, so I ordered them. The heel height and comfort factor of the foot bed is perfect. However, the tops of the boots are very wide. They hit against the front and back of your leg just above the ankle while walking. After a few minutes, it starts to become painful. I can't imagine what it would be like if you've worn them for an extended time. In all fairness to Vionic, that has been the main issue with finding a pair of ankle boots this season. For some reason, all of the manufactures have jumped on some trend to make ankle boots with a wide top. However, I am disappointed in Vionic that they went along with this trend instead of blazing a trail of their own to create comfortable, stylish boots.I guess that I will have to wait until this trend dies down to find a pair of comfortable ankle boots. I am also concerned after reading other reviews about chipping and flaking of the vinyl on the boots.
