Comfort, style and a little bling
Since being diagnosed with plantar fasciitus, I've been donating all my shoes and buying shoes that don't bring back that hellish heel pain.Vionic is at the top of my list. The arch supports are the best I've found and they cradle my medium arches and cup my heels in comfort.I love these shoes. I've always been a minimalist when it comes to how much shoe engulfs my claustrophobic feet. That means flip flop and pretty stylish mules. Simple, free, and no hand involvement!These cradle and hug my arches and heels and look great doing it! They provide that touch of bling for special summer occasions.Usually, I shop for size 9 shoes. These size 8 vionic flip flops fit perfectly.

I have a (healing) fracture and sprain in my left foot, a bunion on the right. Problem feet. I bought the Vionics for their arch support, as I was advised that I was at high risk of a fallen arch if not properly supported. I did not really want a flip/flop style sandal, but my bunion pretty much ruled out others. Re this specific sandal, it requires a break-in period and I did not respect that. I wore them around for a few hours for a few days, at which time they felt great and I could really feel the support as compared to what I had been wearing. But then, I went to the zoo with a friend and walked around for hours in these sandals and by the end of the day, my feet hurt! And by hurt, I mean, keep-me-up-all-night hurt. Now I feel like I am "un-breaking" them in...All that being said, I am waiting for them to go on sale, as I cannot justify spending $70 or so dollars on a sandal that may or may not do the job for me. I DO like the suede strap (has more "give" to it) and the footbed is firm, not squishy, as some others are. Consequently, it maintains its support and does not seem to "wear down" as it is worn for longer periods of time. I will also add that I have worn a size 9 shoe, boot, and sandal for years, but a 9 was too big for me in this sandal; I got an 8 and it looks as if it was molded to my foot--the arch aligns perfectly, the heel bed fits perfectly, and my (fat) feet do not spill over the edge. The gold ring gives it a tad of class and puts it into a different category from what I'd call flip flops. If/when the price comes down, I will purchase again in a different color; I have confidence that this sandal will indeed serve my foot, but I will be more mindful with the next pair.

Great Arch Support!
I absolutely love this shoe! The Vionic insole works for me. The center post is very comfortable and the footbed is so anatomically correct that the fit is so good, at least for me, that the thong sandal hardly "flip flops". I have two pairs of this style and wish I could buy more. I've read varying reviews of the arch support height, but for me, it is just right and puts my ankles in alignment. I find the Vionic footbed works best for me to prevent foot and back pain when standing and walking for long periods. For me they are comparable to a custom footbed.
