Good boots

I had a pair of these boots when I was in the Army, in Alaska, as well as some bunny boots. These boots can keep you warm in cold and snowy conditions, but should have brush the snow away when entering a warm environment. These boots are in new condition. They come with two sets of felt sole inserts, but don't have a boot shaped felt liner sold with them. If you don't have the felt boot liners, you should purchase a pair. I had a set of felt boot inserts from an old pair of barn boots that were still in good condition, and they fit these boots well.

Warm and comfortable

Kept my feet toasty in Northern Alaska in February. I got these since I was going up to be up all night in the snow watching the Aurora, and they delivered. Now, that being said, the temperatures above the Arctic Circle were really, really unseasonably warm. Normal temps according to locals at Wiseman would have been -30 to -60, and it never got below positive single digits on my trip. So they weren't exactly tested in the conditions I had prepared for. Nevertheless, I was standing around in the snow for hours in the middle of the night, and I used them when dogsledding (which is cold!), and my feet were comfortable the whole time, so I was really happy with the purchase.I used them with "Boot Liners 816 GWR with 3 layers of protection, 10" Height, Size 8", and wore a pair of wool socks and sock liners. I normally wear a size 10 shoe in women's, or around an 8 in men's. The boots seemed to run a bit big- they were pretty roomy and I had to cinch the laces pretty tight but then they were fine after that and didn't give me any issues.

I like these mukluks

Ammended: I like these mukluks. They are lightweight and warm... I live in alaska and am outdoors hauling firewood, logs, trapping and hunting throughout the winter months. Your feet do not sweat as badly, like in vapor barrier military boots. They accept most pac liners, and they also dry out a lot quicker than the military boots do...They are not perfect but an awful lot of bang for the buck. About all they need is a bit more waterproofing, which any good canvas waterproofing compound can accomplish.I'm ammending this review to add that both pair of mukluks I purchased suffered zipper failures within 5 months of use. I will attempt a repair but the stitching removal makes this unlikely.I'm pretty bummed because I really like them.. but two identical failures in such a short length of time is no acceptable...

Poor communication

Ordered a medium and was sent a small, tried to message seller and they will not respond. The boots are warm and light but have no tread for mountain terrain. I was able to slid them on and they feel warm and very light but they are to tight for me to wear to see how they hold up!

They work as intended.

Love em. I was issued these same boots back in the 70s. They still a good buy. Cons. Locating inserts that fit properly. Walked 2.3 miles 6 degrees out. Feet stayed warm no leaking issues.4 stars. No inserts come with them
