100% Waterproof, Comfortable to Wear, but Somewhat Hard to Slip Into Half Boots
I frequently do work in my yard, I live in Florida where we can have deluges of rain at times during the Summer. Hence, my yard can get quite wet at times. My old "yard boots" are not waterproof, these Western Chief half boots are. I tested them in my bathtub allowing the water to rise almost to the top of the boots and then standing there for five minutes. They are 100% waterproof. Additionally, thet are very comfortable to wear, but that occurs only when I get them on which is sometimes a challenge. I have a high instep so slipping into boots like these can sometimes be difficult. I really need to use the tabs (small loops) at the back and front of the boots. These are in place to assist with getting the boots on and off, but I have a problem with these tabs. They are so small I cannot get my index finger through - and I will need to use my index finger, thumb and the back tab to have any chance of putting the boots on. My seem like a small complaint, but larger tab loops would make a world of positive difference for me.

stylish, fits well, true to size, great value for the $$
i love these! i'm a dog walker and often am out walking dogs in the rain and mud, so these will come in handy. i've struggled to find a truly waterproof shoe that is also comfortable enough to wear and fits my feet well. thank goodness that search is finally over! these are serious quality, well made rubber boots that look nice. they are low, just above the ankle, so that might not help everyone if you are planning to be in higher water/mud, but for most days these will work great for me. i usually wear a mens 8 so that's what i ordered and they are snugger than i expected with normal athletic type ankle socks but that's probably a good thing as i'm usually swimming in most rain boots, which gives me blisters. these are a good fit, true to size. my only complaint is the little loops on the front/back of the ankle opening that are supposed to help you get the shoes on need to be larger, as i can't get my finger inside of it and it's so short you don't have much leverage to pull on it to help you get your foot in the boot. so they are kind of useless. it wouldn't kill them to make those loops a bit larger so they were actually functional. i like the sole as it looks like it will have good traction. overall i'd say i'm pretty impressed with these at the price point they are being sold for. i'd expect this kind of quality to cost a whole lot more.

These are ok as a rain boot and certainly will keep your feet dry. The rubber is pretty stiff, so getting them on can be a challenge and the pull tab on the back is so small as to be useless. The stretchy fiber inserts on the sides aren’t that stretchy. I find that a shoehorn is needed.The tread is okay and does help stability when walking an smooth, wet sidewalks, but these are not going to replace a good pair of mud boots. Overall, these are okay for strolling around or walking the dog in the wet, but not much more.

Not seeing the value.
The sole isn't as tough and thick as hoped. I wear a size 12 but ordered a 13 and it's good fit with room for heavy socks during cold weather. Materials are heavy, durable, and flexible. The tread isn't deep and penetrating. The bottom tread isnearly smooth. No question they'll keep out water. I might need to change out the insoles but for now they're okay. For the money, these are not a super value. I won't purchase another pair.

Excellent boot for many occasions!
Excellent boot for casual wearing, boating or fishing. The boots fit well, 100% waterproof and a great value for the money. The boots fit perfect to my shoe size. The material is a rubber base but slip on and off easily. They seem very durable and will last a long time. The bottom tread worked well on rainy surfaces and on a boat they were flawless! They are actually stylish!
