Chestnut Color Photos Do Not Look the Same in Person.
I ordered 2 pairs of theese boots the chestnut and dark brown.I absolutely LOVE the dark brown! They are possibly my favorite pair of boots. They are comfortable and the material and color is exactly as expected.I am a loyal White Mountain boots person and when shopping for boots I specifically search for them.The chestnut boots are a different story but only because of the color as the fit and quality were excellent. The chestnut photo shows a light brown/tan but in person they are more of a yellow color. The fit was good but the color was really far off from what was pictured.Therefore I kept the dark brown and returned the chestnut. I really wish I could've kept both pairs but knew I wouldn't wear the yellowish color boots.

Great for wide calved women!
First I tried another style by White Mountain called ‘Mazed’ that had this wonderful stretchy goring as an integral part of the design ,so it didn’t look like a slim boot trying to fit a large calf , and was very happy ! Comfortable and cute ! That first pair was a little short to be considered knee high but this boot is taller and has a more riding boot look . I chose brown because it was available and I went up to a size 11 since that was all that was available at the time . Happy on both fronts ! The mazed boot that I have is a 10 and is a perfect fit while the eleven is a TEENY BIT big . The width is perfect for my 17 inch calves and I did not order the wide calf option . I added insoles for arch support and could use any sock or none at all . Will be checking back for black in this boot for certain.

Nice Pair of Boots for Teaching
This is a really nice pair of boots. I bought them for winter, as I have recess duty and don't want to wear my snow boots to school. Wore them out to duty and they are nice and warm! Just as good as my snow boots. There is the perfect amount of wiggle room in the toe box, so no squeezing there. On the other hand, the ankle is roomy, so they do a little bit of rubbing. I'll probably just get something to fill that space in.After a full day of duties and walking through the school halls my feet aren't the tiniest bit sore.Love my boots. Glad I bought them.

Accordion stretch detail fits larger calves -- but buckles may be a problem.
Firstly, the price of this item dropped $20 in a few weeks, so if you're thinking about buying them I guess earmark them and check back?Secondly, I bought these because I have rather large calves and the reviews said they stretch to fit a 17" calf. When I received the boots, I was disappointed because I could not get them zipped. After about ten minutes of struggling it occurred to me to undo the buckled straps (which go around the widest part of the calf). They immediately zipped just fine; the accordion section of the back of the boots does a great job. Redoing the buckles, however, was a bit difficult. On the widest buckle hole, one side digs in considerably (unclear if my calves are uneven or the straps are, could be both). Because the straps are ended with elastic, I know the leather there will probably not stretch. I may buy my own elastic and make them a bit longer, I may commit myself to losing some weight. Either way, they are at least zippable, even if the reviews of their zippability were a bit misleading.
