Your search is over; BUY THESE!!
My good ol' house shoes finally gave up the ghost, and I began looking for a pair to purchase. Lots of searching through items and lots of reading descriptions and lots of reading feedback. Finally decided on these. I wanted a red pair, but due to the reviews of the red bleeding, chose the black/dark grey.I ordered 2 pairs, as my daughter also needed some new slippers. Since I ordered 2 pairs the same color and same size, when they arrived, I grabbed some nail polish and painted the buttons on one pair so we could tell them apart. (The nail polish is staying on well so far. I would recommend choosing a color that's not too dark or you won't be able to tell at a glance which pair is painted. Also, use some tape on the fuzz underneath to keep it out of the polish until it dries.) I wear a size 7.5; my daughter wears size 8. Since these don't come in half sizes, I chose to order size 8 for both of us and they fit us both great. These have soft fuzz over the entirety of the inside. Feels so soft. The outside is pretty water resistant. I can wear them out in the snow for short trips, get them snow coated, knock off the excess snow (of course all doesn't knock off and ends up melting on them), several times before they start to feel any dampness at all on the inside. Some type of spray on water repellent would work to reduce this I think. But, if you're not going to be getting them that wet, it definitely isn't necessary. (I mean, after all, these are slippers not muck boots.) The soles are nice and thick but still flexible. The insoles under the fuzz feel like a memory foam. Very comfortable. Very cozy. I love them!Today is Feb 17, 2021. During these two back to back winter storms, these slippers have been worn outside in the snow while shoveling, inside the house, it makes no difference... my feet have stayed toasty! I have put on a pair of socks with them to go outside these last few days just as an extra layer. (But, before these storms, I didn't, and my feet never got cold.) These will get slick if too much snow builds up on the bottom. And, there's not major tread on the soles, so it doesn't take much ice to be slippery. If I could give these 100 stars, I would. Everything critical I am saying is really nitpicking, as these are slippers and really should not be your choice in footwear for working outside in the snow and ice.The only down side is they can be a bit too warm and make your feet sweat. So, if you are wanting house shoes for summertime, these aren't the ones you want. And, if you tend to sweat a lot, you might want to always wear socks just to help keep the inside of the slippers clean.I haven't washed either of the pairs I ordered, yet, so I cannot attest to how well they'll hold up during a wash. But, they feel "sturdier" than other slippers I've owned. All in all, I don't think you'll be disappointed if you choose to purchase these.I like them so much, I'm thinking of ordering myself another pair to put back for when the ones I have wear out. And, I will definitely be ordering some for gifts!
