Best Light Duty Work Boot I’ve Owned

I have always worn wolverines for my work. This is the only brand that has lasted me more than a year before needing to be retired and in the case of my last steel toes three years before I wore the toe through kicking things. I work outdoor construction, steep terrain and constant abuse on boots running chainsaws and power equipment.I bought these as a light duty boot aimed more for comfort. Saving my steel toes for the heavy work and areas they are required in. These are by far the most comfortable boot I’ve ever worn. Much nicer than my sneakers. They are also $210 on wolverines website which is why I bought them here at about half price.Pros:Super comfortable while supporting ankles on steep terrain. No sore feet after a ten hour day in the woods.Completely waterproof (until you get to ankle depth but that’s a given)They appear very durable which I expect from this brand. I’ve only had them a couple weeks so that is still to be decided, so far has put up with my abuse without any wear signs besides normal scuffs.Lightweight. Super light.Cons:As it is with wolverine they run a size big. I wear a 13 in all other boots, 12 wolverine. I was luckily already aware of this when I ordered but be warned.Tread. This is subjective to me but these are non slip boots more intended for concrete. The tread does not hold well on mud or loose soil. Not great in the deep woods if you’re climbing uphill. The only other con is these are super good looking boots and due to the color they get scuffed and stained almost instantly if you work in them. I take very good care of all my boots and try to keep them looking as new as possible. These scuff white quickly and polishing does not appear to fix that, gonna need some leather dye if you plan to both work and hit the town in these.

Lightweight boot

They're lightweight which I like, but won't last forever. I usually replace them after a year, but at their price range they're cheap enough for it to be worth it to me.

Great Boots

I like the way wolverine boots fit on me and I always find 11w true to size (compared with Brannock device foot measurement). These are decent work boots for the nonprofessional. I say nonprofessional because the they are 'Direct Attach Construction'. That means the uppers are molded to the soles, no stitching like a Goodyear welt. It's a watertight seal but not the most durable boot construction method. It's getting to be the norm though across well known brands. I've never had a molded or glued sole hold up on a boot so we'll see how this goes. If you work daily outdoors you might want to get a more rugged model. I really like the fit so I'll be happy if I get a few years of light duty work out of these. If you are not familiar with Durashocks, I have to say, the name implies to me soft and cushy to me, but don't expect cushy athletic shoe comfort. These are more firm and tough and my foot is cradled nicely with a roomy toe box. They do feel comfortable to me walking/working on rocks and concrete with and appropriate amount of cushion for my weight. I've been wearing wedge sole shoes and boots lately but I've had some slips in the mud or loose soil. Having a distinct heel helps. I like the 3 sets of lace hooks, they make on and off very easy. If you like to leave your boots very loosely tied so you can slip them on and off, then you might not like that feature.

Best foods I've ever owned

I've been wearing these boots for 25 years. Love them! Very comfortable from the day you put them on. I'm a carpenter working New York City usually get a minimum 2 years out of a pair closer to three definitely five stars. For some reason the app wouldn't let me give it five only four
