Great boots, comfortable and keeps that "on your feet all day" fatigue away. I've had 3 pair of these boots over the past decade or so. Always hold up and maintain their comfort. Used them while surveying and they were tough, comfortable, and had great traction. Not uncommon to walk 20 miles in a day and no sore feet and no wore out calves from lugging heavy boots all day. Will continue to buy them in the future.
These boots impressed me dramatically at unboxing. I never write Amazon reviews with the belief there are already enough there from other customers. However for these I will make an exception. Sizing is accurate and the craftsmanship here is remarkabley high at the 150 dollar price point. I would recommend these to anyone in need. I can only assume all of there products are manufactured at a high tier for the end consumer. 5 Star Plus!
I walk a lot for work (~1700 mi/yr) and bought these mainly for the expected increase in tread life (6 months is normal boot lifespan for me.) Sadly, they seem to wear as fast as the Durashocks I normally wear. The boot feels dramatically harder to the foot than the Durashocks, as well; I had to put a thicker insole in them. They did get better, but initially the traction wasn't as good, either, especially when wet.But as expected with Wolverines, they needed no break in, they held together as the should, and they were still all-day comfortable (just not as comfy as the durashocks.) They just didn't offer enough extra life to justify the harder footbed and reduced traction, so my new pair of Hellcat Ultrasprings is already on the way, they are like walking on a cloud compared to the I-90! The Hellcat's taller toebox also makes a much more attractive boot to my eye.
These boots are more comfortable than Timberlands. I know your saying, “yeah right”, but it’s true. Wolverine I-90 boots are comfortable, durable, affordable, and they look awesome. Whether you are sporting a country style, an urban style or for work, its my opinion the Wolverine I-90 boot will be your go to boot. I won’t buy another boot as long as the Wolverine I-90 is being sold.
To say these boots are extra wide is a misrepresentation at least out of the box, its taken 2 weeks walking with the boots undone to find any comfort while wearing them. The connection for the tongue to the upper boot has many layers which caused actual pain at the point where they rubbed against the ankle, after 2 weeks I am finally able to lace them up. The width is more like a wide boot not an extra wide, given I have Freddy Flintstone feet it has taken a couple of weeks to stretch the boot width out to where they are half comfortable.This is the 3rd pair of Wolverines for me, the first pair I purchased was perfect right out of the box, the second pair were steel toe and did not provide the same level of comfort, now the third pair are what I would say misrepresented as to the width, (they are not xtra wide), this will not allow me to wear heavy winter socks when required.The laces are too short making it difficult to tie these boots, not that I can actually do that. The laces are very small dimeter, which I have never seen on a pair of boots.Those are my comments regarding these boots and I don't think the next pair of boots will be Wolverine given the fact they need a break in period to even come close to being usable for long walks, what happened to honesty in advertisement?Mark
