Great look, great boot, and a great fit.Made in China is the only negative!
I have been wearing Wolverine boots for 30 years or more. I always love the quality, fit and the longevity of these boots.
Going back to the second pair of Wolverine boots I ever owned, these are exactly the same as 20 plus years ago. I bought these for run around boots. Just throw them on and go for anything. These had a normal brake in period but we're by no means stuff. I likely put close to 200 miles on these boots as every day after work and weekend before I changed jobs. For the past 6 months they have been my all day every day boot from work to bed and weekends.I ordered the 10 x wide with no liner. I'm a heavy wool sock person in winter and these were fine no problem. I will advise people to invest in a good pair or thick insoles because the nature of throw on boots in this style. The radius from foot to ankle/shin tends to be tall and these boots have a deep foot well, so an extra 1/4" or so under your sock makes these fit your foot like a good shoe. It's a stigma that we all brush off but these literally are the ultimate "father" boots. Do anything, go anywhere. Every man needs a pair
The so called "extra wide" isnt particularly wide, so I am back to using a 13 when a 12 fits me for length. On the up side, they are an unlined leather boot that will stretch and conform to my feet with regular sloppy farm yard use. My last pair, as an experiment, I soaked a 12, wore them wet till they stretched, and then oiled them up. The good: they didnt slip while I walk, but they were a bit snug. I'm trying the 13 now and hoping they dont have too much heel slip. At least there is no liner to wear out from heel slip, rendering the boots inoperable before the leather is wore out. So far these have been the best option I have found for farm work, not good for snow plowing! Your feet will freeze solid, no surprise.
After being a loyal customer for Timberland boots for many years, after not finding their new products meeting their old quality standards, I went looking for alternatives. I came across these Wolverines on Amazon. While the leather is imported, this particular boot is made in the U.S. The soles are sewn on, not just glued. The rubber tread gives good traction and is comfortable to walk around in or work in. I normally get standard cowhide leather boots but took a chance with these in Nubuck. These boots fit like they were made for me. I normally buy shoes and boots in 10 1/2 wide or 11 wide depending on the brand. These are regular size 11 and they fit just fine. I used silicone spray to waterproof the boots because we have a lot of rain and humidity in the area I live in. The boots I purchased arrived in perfect condition and does not have any issues of loose stitching or material defects. It was really nice to put on a new pair of boots that fit so well that I knew I would not have to work to break these in. They were ready to go out of the box. When I do wear the soles of these boots out, at least I will have the option to take them in to get resoled. Hopefully you too will get a pair of these boots that fit like mine so you can enjoy the pleasure I had in trying them on for the first time. Made my feet happy and has made me a solid Wolverine fan.
I already own a pair of these and they are the most comfortable work boots I have ever owned. However the boots that I received from Amazon, are made smaller than the boots I bought at the local Rural King farm store.Exactly the same boots, same size, made from the same material, same everything, except that they are shorter, not as wide, and too tight across the high arch. Making it uncomfortable to try and wear for any length of time. I have tried to stretch them out but it doesn’t seem to work. I have already returned the first pair, one of the pull loops was broken.
I have owned this boot for six years prior to this purchase. They are extremely comfortable and durable, one of my favorite boots. I bought them in a store and was able to try them on before purchase. The other reviews are right they do run big, but I think that there is a reason. If you are going to wear a heavy boot sock it will probably fit right, if you are wearing an athletic sock you would need to buy them one size smaller. I normally wear a 9 1/2 shoe with athletic socks and a 10 1/2 boot with heavy boot socks. I buy these in 8 1/2 and wear athletic socks and they fit perfect. My suggestion is depending on what type of sock you are planning on wearing order either on size or one size smaller. I hope this helps in clearing up the size issue, I would hate for someone to pass up a great boot on the worry that they will not fit properly.
