Holding up well under heavy abuse! Very comfortable!
I have put these boots through extreme use and at the beginning of month 3, they are intact! How extreme? Well, the boots come with nice waxed shoelaces, but the laces have not survived. I had initial concerns because the uppers are soft and the boot was very comfortable right out of the box. The boots are true to size and have ample toe box in the wide. They are also very nice looking. I received several complements. The insole provided is thin, i prefer the thicker Wolverine insoles as opposed to the one provided. I noticed I could not " double up" insoles so the boots are a good fit and provide good support when I tighten the laces. The composite toe has done well and I have not had any issue when accidentally kicking huge stones. The boots also provide good protection from water. I am satisfied with my purchase and amazed by the boots blend of comfort and durability.Update December/ January 2026My rating remains the same but a few clarifications.1. These boots are not a true composite toe, but they do offer a good deal of protection for most use cases.2. A note on durability. If you wish to keep the same pair of boots for over a year, consider spending considerably more. That said, these boots should be inspected upon receipt bc it is true that they do suffer from seperation at soul. Second weakness is at base of heal inside shoe which will become a hole. Of course, you can stick a piece of padding there. This shoe is designed to provide comfort out of the box, so even the rubber on the bottom can wear in time, the shoe laces wont last, and you may need inserts. For the price point, I have not found better but indeed since i wrote this review , i am on my 3rd pair. I personally dont like to keep boots too long as any work boot will get smelly.MAINTENANCE: IF WATER DOES ENTER THROUGH TONGUE OR OVER THE TOP, Use a boot dryer or small heater to dry inside them for a few hours. These are not waders or muck boots!Second, condition them occassionally with leather conditioner.Personally, I also like to rotate boots rather than the same pair 6 days a week.In summary, the title of this review tells the story. Comfort out of the box v Durability. Im surprised they dont get annihiliated sooner. You want boots ultra tuff? Break in, heavy, bulky, stiff...these factors become a real consideration. That said, Amazon and Wolverine shouldnt ship them without inspection and minor upgrades could be made easily in the next version of this boot. Examples: reinforce soul at seams, add heel cushion on vertical wall, stronger laces, thicker inserts, quality control. Unfortunately, that's a more expensive Floorhand!

A great pair of workboots for the price.
Before we go, I'm not a boot expert. I'm just an average guy that needs something solid and dependable. Without being too snarky or specific I'll just say it's common for employees to get injured at my work because our customer base isn't particularly dexterous enough to hold a piece of plywood steady for 60 secs.This does the job perfectly.In function it's a solid toe with a great heal with solid laces that haven't frayed up just yet. I've had some stuff rest on top of it and it doesn't scratch or scuff particularly easily and I was hesitant considering the stitching on the top, but that's been holding up rather nicely.The soles do need some work and you're going to have to find proper inserts.I am admittedly a little rough with my boots considering I slip these on and off frequently between my job and college campus so the aglet of one needed some light repair.But consider the market, consider even the cursory concept of style in your personal presentation, and these are a very solid bargain.Non slip, great tread, good heel if you need to anchor yourself on something, and a protective toe. Matches most of what you need in a haphazard enviorment and you're not scraping anything less than utilitarian quality.Arguably just as good as my Dewalt Steel Toes I had for two years. Molds great to your foot after just a casual day around the house, but as I said... invest in some comfort ones and you'll be golden.

Extra wide fits perfect for wide feet!!!
If you are like me and have wide feet and continuously have problems finding any foot ware that fits, this is your boot.This boot is a true extra wide and the size is pretty true. That being said I wear a size 9 but I did order a 9.5 for a little extra room, but I truly feel a 9 would have been fine.They fit and feel great and have a broken in feel right out of the box!!! I think the key is the moc toe!So if you buy Crocs and X wide Skechers cause they fit right and are comfortable buy this boot.Thank you Wolverine, great fit!

Run smaller than the steel toe version
I purchased the soft toe, size 11.5 wide. I was at a store and tried the same size on with the steel toe. It fit perfectly/comfortably. However, the 11.5 wide soft toe was tight/narrower and my toe hit uncomfortably on the stitching of the moc toe.
