Finally found shoes that fit swollen feet

I have been trying to find shoes for my 89 year old mother. She has swelling of her feet and ankles. I tried name brand sneakers that I thought she could slide her feet into but because the top of her feet are swollen those shoes didn't work. These shoes open up to allow her to independently put them on. They fit her perfectly and the Velcro closure allows her to adjust based on the amount of swelling. She found if her heal was slipping, she just needed to make sure the strap was pulled securely. These give her the stability she needs while allowing her to get them on and off easily. The overall quality is good, they're comfortable and she's so excited to finally have shoes that fit.

Not Quite

I bought a pair of these shoes in black and size 10. As a diabetic, they appealed to me because of the wide toe box. They are comfortable and that is terrific, but like many shoes today, the top of the shoe is not leather and I am not happy about trying to keep them clean. Shoe polish works fine for the leather part of the shoe but I don't know what to use on the top to make the shoes look clean. Won't by them again.
