Gold tie up gladiator sandals!

I am a huge fan of gladiator sandals and I’m always looking for a new pair to add to my wardrobe. When I saw these I thought they had a unique design- and they were metallic gold, which is also unique. I thought they would match a lot of dresses and shorts already in my closet.I received the shoes and I do like them. I’m not sure if the fish mouth design with the extra material at the front of the shoe is cute on me or not. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m really on the fence so I need to try wearing these shoes out and about more when the weather gets warmer to decide. I’m so used to gladiator sandals that are a little more like roman sandals but these were so unique I wanted to try them out.One thing I did want to note is that I tried tying them up several different ways- one shorter and one higher up on my legs. The problem with every pair of gladiator tie up sandals I’ve ever owned is that they don’t stay up at all once you start walking around. I have no idea how people wear them out and about unless there is some sort of glue trick because they definitely don’t defy gravity and usually end up falling down pretty quickly.To remedy this, I’ve always had to buy gladiator sandals with a “spine” in the back that holds them up- more like boots with cutouts. Alternately I can tie the straps low around the ankle and still get a cute fashion-forward look.With this pair- I tied them slightly lower but still halfway up my leg and lo and behold they managed to stay up! Even after I walked around in them for an hour. I think this might be because I tied them lower and wrapped the straps around my ankle several times. I also think the braiding in the straps gave it some texture or grip that allow them to actually stay up. I was shocked! That has literally never happened before.I did try wrapping the straps up higher around my calf and tying them but they almost immediately fell down when I started walking. So I think they work when tied lower on the leg but not higher. I’m not sure why. Maybe someone with larger calves would be able to wear these because they would stay up? Maybe my calves are too small and I need to do some calf raises? I have no idea lol. Either way- I’m excited I was actually able to find a pair that does seem to stay up with laced up the leg halfway so I’ll definitely be wearing these when the weather gets warmer. These are a unique pair of shoes that fits true to size and are definitely worth trying out if you’re looking for something a little different than the basic Roman gladiator sandals. 5 stars!
