4 years & still in Love!
UPDATE: it’s now May of 2025, and I still love these boots! They still look great, still get compliments every time I wear them & still just as comfortable. It’s a miracle but they haven’t scuffed, embroidery is still intact & I can’t say if I ever polished them either, because of the flowers. I have other footwear I bought back then that hasn’t held up and they’ve peeled because they were “vegan “ leather, which just doesn’t hold up. These boots will still be beautiful 10 years from now, though I’ll try some neutral polish on them to keep the leather from stiffening, but as of now, they’re still as supple & soft as day 1. I highly recommend them! And, amazingly in 4 years, they’re still as price hasn’t gone up. How many things can you say that about? I just saw a pair of blue leather Mary Jane style low/medium shoes by this same company & was thinking of buying them. I clicked on the brand name & discovered it’s same brand as these boots, so now I am definitely buying them. If the quality is anything like these gorgeous unique & comfortable boots, I’ll have another fashion statement for my feet, that’ll garner me more compliments while making my feet very happy!NOTE: Red color is a bright saturated Chinese Red, not like the photos which show a slightly darker red with black overspray (or shadowing/vignetting), but while I would’ve preferred the darker look, this bright red is still fabulous & obviously, I kept them.Bought about 2.75 yrs ago (March 2021), now 11/26/23, for $79 ( prime & free returns), same price as now. I splurged on these with a gift card and & Amazon CC reward points, so they only cost me @$8 net but they’re Worth every penny of their$79. Price. I don’t lightly part with that much money for a pair of boots, especially ones like these, that while beautiful, aren’t ones I’d wear every day because of the color & embroidered flowers, but I fell in love with their uniqueness, the promise of REAL, soft LEATHER, & the moderate heel.I’ve worn them maybe 3 or 6 times a year and love how great they look & how comfortable they are to wear & I always get compliments, even from strangers when out shopping. There was no need for a break in period, I was able to wear them for an evening out straight from the box. I have no trouble walking or standing in them for an evening. I even wore them when my hip was collapsed before I got a total hip replacement 11/30/2022, without difficulty, while I was unable to wear any other heels. (Now, with my new hip, they’re almost like walking barefoot!). Having the platform negates most of the heel’s height, which makes them almost as comfortable as flats. The leather is super soft & supple with a lightly pebbled surface. The boot is lined, except for the decorative knotted straps which are unlined. I was worried the glued hem might come undone (see last photo) but so far they’ve held up fine. There are no markings inside as to size, materials or origin, they’re completely blank. I finally figured out the size is marked on the bottom in Euro #s.I bought 7.5 (marked 38 on sole) & 8 (marked 39) as I usually wear a 7.5, but sometimes need an 8 if things run small, or the shoe is narrow in width, but I was able to return the 8’s and wear these 7.5 with thin cotton socks or knee highs. I have problem feet that are difficult to fit as my right foot was operated & had the large toe joint removed, so it’s a quarter inch shorter & is now wider than the left, too. The big toe also sticks up in the air a little, rather than laying flat, so many shoes rub on the top of that toe painfully. These boots accommodated my weird feet with no issues, a rarity for me! Having the incredibly soft leather is a huge help, along with a generous & tall toe box & pretty good cushioning. The heel is made of a light weight molded plastic type material. I was worried they’d not have any traction, but despite the apparent slickness of the sole, I have not had any issues with slipping while wearing these, whether on wood, linoleum, or carpet.I love these boots & would wear them more often if I had more red outfits. I’d buy them again if they came in denim or navy blue, teal, pink, silver, holographic silver, turquoise or purple in a heartbeat. I’d love to have them without the embroidered flowers too, or with multicolored flowers so they’d match more outfits & I could wear them more often. A Mary Jane, mid heel version would be wonderful too!I can’t speak to how these would hold up to heavy wear. I’ve always assumed the embroidery on the toes would look bad if frayed, so I’m careful how & when I wear them (not on rainy or snowy days), so I can keep them looking as wonderful as they were new. I’m actually shocked the leather hasn’t gotten nicked or scuffed yet, that usually mysteriously happens within the 1st 15 minutes of wearing any new shoe, perhaps I have the platform to thank for being scuff free?Buy them. Treat them with the reverence they deserve & enjoy them for years to come!Note: photos taken 11/25/23, date of review
