Cute, comfortable, and nicely stretchy.
I ordered these Women's Mary Jane Flats because the knit uppers looked like they would be quite comfortable.I have a pretty messed up spine; both my neck and back are an issue, with fusions, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis and more. In recent years, I’ve had mobility issues, and so I’ve mostly been wearing flat shoes. It can be difficult to find comfortable and cute flats, but these Mary Jane styled flats were just what I was looking for. These flats are made from a knit fabric; the sales page doesn’t give any information about what textiles are in the shoe uppers. I’m not a fabric expert, but I would guess the textured knit uppers are made from a polyester or other manmade fiber blend. The fabric is lightweight and has some stretch, so there might be some spandex or elastane in the mix.The shoes look like a strappy Mary Jane; they have rounded toes and a single strap over the arch of each foot. The straps fasten under a faux pearl button; the lightweight upper is fairly sturdy for a knits and breathes well.I ordered these in a size 9; I usually wear an 8 1/2 or 9, and these fit fine, though a touch large. That’s great for winter wear; there’s plenty of room to wear these with heavy wool socks or tights. The soles of the shoes are flexible rubber; I found these comfortable for plenty of city walking. These are comfortable to wear and well-ventilated. I’ve been a bit frustrated lately with wearing just flat shoes, but these are super cute, and a versatile addition to my shoe wardrobe. They’re also great for costumes; my family does a lot of dressing up, and these simple Mary Jane style flats are great for all kinds of fairy tale and storybook characters, like Alice, Wendy, Belle, Briar Rose, and plenty of other princess and young girl roles. These flats also work well under period costumes; the simple, single strap flats work for Regency, Victorian, even Edwardian dresses and skirts. At the current price ($39.99) these cute flats are a less pricey version of big brand name knitted flats that are very popular right now. These look very similar to two famous name brand flats that sell for well over $100; it’s great to get these cute, comfy flats for less than $40 a pair.I ordered these in black; they’re also available in white, a pale beige, and a “dusty pink” that looks like a purplish mauve. The black shoes go everywhere; I wear them with everything from maxi skirts and dresses to leggings and jeans. Come spring, a white pair would be cute to wear with sundresses. These black flats are light and easy to pack; they slide easily into my weekender fit getaway weekends, and can be easily by dressed up or down.
