Chunky Heel Pleated Mid-Calf Boots, Brown Suede

Very cute and comfortable boots. These hardly feel like I’m wearing heels. My usual size fits perfectly. There's very little stretch or give for putting these on, but the side zipper does help. The brown suede color looks more like a rust orange. Since these are not water-resistant suede, I'd recommend getting some type of suede shoe protectant or keep in mind that these may get damaged if untreated and worn in the winter or wet weather conditions.

I sized up, and I'm happy I did:

I love boots. But boots, particularly if they have pointy toes like these ones, work against me because I have wide toes. I always size up by one size or half a size, but most of the time it is not enough, and they still squeeze my toes. This time I went full exaggeration and ordered them in 10 when I am usual 8 or 8 1/2 in closed shoes. Let me just tell you right now that it was a good decision, because my toes end where they still have room to breath, and that obnoxious point is nowhere near me. Of course, the shoes are bigger that I normally wear, but I think that because they are mid calf (meaning a little tall) that balances them out and they don't look like clown shoes. Also, I am not too tall, I an 5'5, but I think that is tall enough to pull of wearing slightly larger shoes, even more because they add two or three inches more to my height. So if you have wide toes, my advise is to size up until you think you are exaggerating, you will probably be thankful.Now, with this bigger size I do find these boots to be quite comfortable, nothing was squeezing, nothing was hurting, and the fuzzy lining is a very nice element to these boot that is not all that common. It makes the boots softer, more comfortable, and ideal for colder weathers.About the heel, I found that wearing it felt like it was higher than it looked, but nothing unmanageable; of course it helps that it is a wide, square heel.The zippers work well, and that is always something to be thankful for, because a boot with a stuck zipper can be a nightmare. Talking about the zipper actually brings me to another point I wanted to mention. Thought these boots are too larger for her, just for fun my mom tried them on. The thing is that her calves are on the thicker side, and she couldn't pull the zippers all the way up. This is not an age thing, because ever since she was young her calves were very full, so what I want to say is that if you are someone with very full legs, these boots might be too narrow on the top for you.We all know that now a days suede in very in-style, so these are a great choice for the coming winter. They also remind me of that old Elvis Presley song "Blue Suede Shoes", that's why I got them in blue! And that makes me even more excited about these boots, lol! :-)

Beautiful Minky Lined Suede Boots

Off the bat I have to share how these boots were shipped. I’ve ordered shoes online several times but never received a pair packed so well. As to be expected, there was packing inside the boots to keep the tops from smushing down. The boots each came on their own fabric bag precluding the boots from rubbing against each other during shipping. It was stronger protection than the normal tissue paper. Great start.The boots themselves are beautiful! I was delighted to try on the boots with the minky lining. I normally have to wear super thick socks with most boots to keep my feet warm. These boots won’t require that extra. The minky lining is warm but also obviously very soft! The ruched suede is so pretty! The sole is sufficient without being bulky or too thin. The heels are great for us shorter gals as they give a little boost but aren’t too high as to be uncomfortable. The heels provide a wide balancing base also without being too bulky. I ordered my usual size and the boots fit as expected.OF NOTE: If you have a wider foot, these boots may not be a as good a fit for you as someone whose feet aren’t wide. The toe box is pointed and therefore narrower than rounded end boots. Also, if you have large calves, these boots might be tight. I’m not deducting any stars for this or saying anything negative about the boots. Just a point to hopefully help other potential buyers.
