Versatile stylish boots, very wide calf but narrow for the front of my feet.

I love boots, I have had countless pairs over the years and these are wonderfully versatile for styling. The biggest issue I had was the fit. I go between a 8.5 and a 9, so to be safe I got a 9, but the front is still tight on my feet, while there is so much space in the calf of the boot. I know these are wide calf, but this seems a bit much the pictures are not showing how much space there was. I could put my fist in the gap. Why the feet would be so narrow and the calf so wide I don't understand.This makes styling them a little tricky because I love to have my jeans cover the boot, but with the calf being this wide, there would have to be a bigger flair.The heel is a kitten heel, and I have found now that I am older, I love, but it is a pointed heel so when combined with the tight toes, it was a little tricky on soft ground. For reference I have 3-inch stilettos I can play basketball in, so this surprised me. Part of the issue was the tight toes, and everything else is loose so my feet would shift. The photos doesn't really give justice to the gaping.This went great with a short dress I had, the pointed toe looks dressy and they have a nice grip on the bottom. The texture of the leather isn't so soft that these scuff easily, which is great because that makes them last much longer. Overall the quality is great, for me the fit was the issue.
