Being a teenager in the 1990s, I was always out to wear grungy clothing. I had the uniform well built and wore versions of the grunge/crunchie as often as I could. And I kept wearing those clothes way after the trend died. I'm a slave to what's out of fashion, I guess. Nevertheless, in recent days, it's difficult to really classify looks as being 'in' or being 'out'. At least for me. So the idea of wearing those boots that had really strong soles and a look of danger...I am thrilled I get to wear them again! And I do...just not with dresses. In any case, that's why I couldn't wait to get my hands on these Ultra-Light Chelsea Boots by AUPEWEL.In the majority of my reviews, products start out with five stars. I deduct stars for each characteristic that could be considered universally unfavorable. I've given this boots five stars. Let me explain:- Do they fit? My feet lie between an 8 regular and an 8 wide, and I have a high arch. I can slide my feet into these boots if I unzip them about halfway. One thing that matters to me the most is that one of my legs is shorter than the other, so I have to wear a support in the left boot. I was able to add a 3/4" support to my boot and they didn't feel excessively tight on me with regular socks.- Are they comfortable? These boots have soles that are sturdy but do bend well as you walk. They fit my feet which are somewhere between normal and wide, so they don't squeeze my feet on the sides. My arch isn't too high that they are tight, and with the right sock they stay that way. I have some extra room at the front but not much.- What are the material features? The boots are faux leather, and they don't get stained or scuffed easily. The soles are tough but bendable. They are meant to cover the ankle and that's about it. They are more for fashion than they are for warmth, so don't expect to be wearing them on cold, snowy days.- Are they easy to clean? Since these are faux leather, it's almost impossible to make them look bad. Using a simple sponge to get dirt off them is all you need to keep them clean.- Are these constructed with quality in mind? For faux leather boots that are made with somewhat inexpensive materials, I think these have a decent amount of quality. I can move around in them with the elastic being plyable, and the zipper doesn't seem to get stuck or catch on anything. So far, the sole hasn't cracked and I've worn them a number of times in the past couple of months.- Do I like the way these look on me? That danger vibe I got wearing those name brand boots back in the 90s is back and I love it! They look amazing with any black trousers, leggings, jeans…or if you want to show them off, wear them with white or colored leggings. I think they look amazing when fully displayed...maybe even with a maxi dress or long skirt! But maybe that's too retro.- Are they worth the money? These are cheaper than the name-brand boots that were so fashionable way back when, MUCH cheaper. And I've found they would probably live up to the hype if I had seen a label on them that I'd want to show off. I think the price is just right for those of you who want to make your boots a part of your go-getter look (that used to be the lazy Gen-X look).
These boots are impressively lightweight and true to size, making them great for everyday wear. The slip-on design is convenient, and the sole offers solid stability without feeling bulky. However, the “plush fleece lining” is minimal—more of a thin lining than actual insulation. It adds a bit of softness but won’t do much for warmth once Ohio’s real winter sets in.If you’re looking for stylish, featherweight boots for fall or mild days, these work well. Just don’t expect them to keep your feet warm in freezing temps.
Beautiful and lightweight but run very small. Had to return but ordered a new pair and sized up
These boots are a dream come true! The fleece lining is so soft and warm, yet they’re surprisingly lightweight—I barely feel like I’m wearing boots. Love them!
