Ordered a half size up to plan for an extra pair of socks during winter wear. Put my own copper fit massage insoles in. So far, these are very comfortable and not too tight in the toes. I’ve been wearing them everyday to make sure I love/trust them enough to do a crazy 20 mile/8hour hike come February. We’ll see how they do…
Amazon recommended I order these boots a half size smaller, so I did but they were too short, so I returned them. If they’d fitted I think they’d have been a great walking shoe. They are definitely quality construction, roomy in the toe box, which I loved, and have a nice, grippy looking tread. The size Amazon recommended was on sale and my regular size was not, so I’ve not purchased my correct size (yet).
I bought these for a trip to Norway, and they were fabulous. They had good grip on slippery cobblestones, and a gravel path, but were very lightweight. They have good squish inside, too, much more like your favorite trainers than a hiking boot. I found them much more comfortable for walking around city streets than my hikers. And they were very waterproof, which was excellent for the wet weather in Norway. I wore them with hiking pants, but also with leggings and a fleece dress.
I normally wear an 8.5, so I sized up as I normally would for a hiking shoe. Unfortunately, my big toe hit the front, so they’re going back. The collar also rubbed and felt constricting. That probably could have been remedied with a breaking-in, but the toe issue nixed that. I’m sticking with the Merrell Siren Edge 3. I got the low, so ankle discomfort isn’t an issue. If you find the Merrell Moab 3 (or 2) to be clunky and uncomfortable, you might like the Siren Edge 3. They’re lightweight and comfortable, and don’t make you feel like you’re walking on rocks, even when you’re not. Very grippy (Vibram). Super roomy toe box, too. Not much arch support, so I’ll add that.
But size is larger than the actual.
Just had the boots delivered...took them out of the box and there was a stain on them! How does this pass quality control...ok maybe its not a big one but I would have expected them to be free of defects
