Nice sandal boots, but...

These are sandal boots that are kind of growing on me. I really like the style and the concept, after putting them on it's taking me a day or two to really appreciate them. The fit is good and accurate, but different than other sandals or boots. That might take a little to get used to but it does work. Normally wearing open toed sandals I can pull my foot out and drop my sandals anywhere. Obviously with boots that's not the case. Also combining these two to make this nice unique style footwear requires compromise. The boot is form-fitting and snug to my calf but the 4-in area between the beginning of the sandal and the lower part of the calf is slightly loose and probably needs to be. But again that's a little bit of an odd feeling at first. The look is outstanding with one minor exception. The zippers are not full length they are only partial so the collar of the calf is fixed and closed, then you have the slightly looser fit around the ankle and then an accurate fit of the sandal. The zipper also exposes the one thing I don't like about the boots. The thin faux leather is very comfortable, but it does cinch and ripple slightly at the zipper closure. It is not 100% clean closure so there is no mistaking these boots for real leather once you see that. Now, I'm not trying to pass off these as uber expensive fashion when I'm out, but that simple flaw exposes these boots as less than that- which is still okay. Walking down the sidewalk no one is going to notice, but I notice as I look at them and they are just slightly reduced to a fashion sandal/boot, when they could be a little bit more with a better total closure zipper. Overall the quality is fine and I do believe they will last.
