These are the best investment I've made and recommend these boots to everyone
I will forever be a Sorel customer!I live in New Hampshire where it gets cold, snowy and rainy! These are the best investment I've made and recommend these boots to everyone! They might not have "sex appeal", however shoveling snow no one is trying to look sexy. I volunteer at a dog shelter and walk in the snow and rain when its 15 degrees out for about 8 hours and they have kept my feet warm and dry with thick socks. Thin socks on, I felt like I was swimming in them , my toes got a bit chilly, the ankle is a bit narrow and was rubbing my ankle, but when I wore heavy duty socks for 5 hours I didnt even notice. I take a size 9 and have wide calves (thickest part is 18inches). Its always difficult to find the right fit. I got a a size 10 after reading all the post to go up a size and glad I did. If you have big calves these still had plenty of room in them for my jeans to be tucked in.

Great Boots So Far, Will Update After Usage in Snow
Initial Review: Let me start by saying this review is based on the the look, feel and quality of the boots. I still have a couple of months before I can update with performance in the snow.Packaging was great. Boots arrive unharmed. As expected, they're pretty stiff. I suggest wearing them around to break them in before you actually need them for winter usage. They'll be more comfortable that way and provide more room for thick, winter socks. Even with the stiffness, they're still pretty comfortable with a nice and warm lining. I don't predict any problems with the material in wet conditions. Again, I will update with a more thorough review once used in the snow.

Great boot but they look bulky!
I am happy with this boot but was kind of taken aback by how big-looking they were! I am a 10/10.5 and while the boots fit mostly true to size (perhaps just a tiny bit roomy), I would warn other large-footed women that you should only buy this if you are not concerned about your feet looking big.I also have a pair of Sorel Tivoli boots that have lasted me about 8 years. I thought I was getting a taller, sturdier version of those but the Joan of Arctics have a much larger profile.I'm happy with this because they enabled me to walk through deep snow without getting snow down them, and they are SUPER warm. They appear to be durable. I prefer the knit cuff to the faux-fur cuff (which I feel would add to the largeness of the boot).

Would not recommend and if I would have tour them on sooner ...
Bought and when I put them on they were too big and around the ankle they bunch and hurt. Would not recommend. I purchased them and we'll before winter hit and should have tried them on. As I did not by the time I actually did wear them it and realize they were so horrible it was too late to return them. Absolute waste of money.

Seemed comfortable only wore them in the house)
As most reviews stated they run a bit small. I normally wear a 6.5, got the 7 and they fit perfectly. Seemed comfortable only wore them in the house), but stiff in the leg, felt like I was wearing a cast. Reckon they will loosen up but I'm returning them so I won't find out. The reason I am returning them is that they really do resemble fire fighters boots when on. The foot part is so big! I have a small foot and it made me look like a giant. Also, I wouldn't consider myself thin, but I don't have particularly thick calves. These boots (mostly the knit part) make your calves look huge. Although the boot is cute, it wasn't flattering on me. If I wanted to look stylish while fire fighting, these are the perfect boot! But I'm going to stick with my mid-height Keens for now.

They work great. Warm
Very warm! I live in Massachusetts and use these in high snow. They work great. Warm, even without socks. They are tall, and very sturdy. Lots of compliments and people saying they are going to get some too! I wear a size 5 1/2 and I purchased a 6. This was a perfect choice because otherwise they'd be a little tight pulling off around the ankle area. They are a little "clunky" looking, but I quickly got used to the look and now find them super cute! Plus, I've noticed snow boots are a little clunky in general.

Fit improperly
These boots are too heavy and force me to walk in such a way that it hurts my back. I had to return. They are very warm and certainly keep wetness out but they fit too wide and hurt my back.
