Like walking on clouds

These are my third pair of Altra Olympus Vias and I just love the cushion soles. I can stand all day in these and not get feet/leg fatigue. Even my old pair are still comfortable all day despite the tread wear. Worth the expense on this brand and this model.

Best shoes ever!!

I love these Altras! I have worn Altras for years and I can say this pair is one of my favorites. I love the max cushion. I love the fit. They fit well in the toe box. Not too big, not too small. I have small heels, and my heel feels cradled and snug. I think they fit similar to the paradigm 5 I had a few years ago but it was redesigned. The color is okay; I got gray outsole with a pale blue interior with accent stripe and peach colored laces. I like to walk/hike on trails and small pieces of gravel get stuck in the bottom sole which is annoying but it’s not a big deal. I had pretty bad foot pain before I got these new Via Olympus shoes and the pain went away. I was trying to wear my old pairs of shoes to stretch money, but it’s not worth it to be in pain. Get a new pair!

Great shoes

These shoes have wide toe boxes, and thick soles. I walked daily in it for more than 10k steps on different terrains for more than a week straight, and I was glad that my feet never felt tired. I love the shoes so much that I buy a second pair.

VIA Olympus vs Provision 6

I have been sold on Altra since I got fitted for them at a local shoe store and bought my first pair. Let me just say they have been loyal to me, my feet, and have kept my knee pain in check. Every pair of shoes I bought previously didn’t do that for me. I am on my feet on cement flooring for 12 hour shifts. My provision 6’s have been my go to with enough toe room as my feet are wide in the front. I have a normal to high arch and average heel. I wanted to try a shoe similar to the provision, but with a lot more cushion. I’m seeing the Hoke trend and almost bought a pair but would have to buy wide and my foot is not wide all over. Yes the via Olympus is on a stack of cushion and on my first wear I wore them only 6 hours and felt a sore spot on my heel. I noticed the back of Olympus is more lifted vs provision that made me walk with more of a longer stride and more of a rocker shoe. The sizes and widths of the 2 shoes are identical. I like the physical make and fabric of the provision better. Looking close at the Olympus it seems cheaper made, see pics. I can definitely wear the via Olympus during my 12 hour shifts it just took them getting broken into that first day. Maybe I even became more aware to not take long strides and hit on my heel. The soles are made differently on the 2 shoes provision is more of a spongy sole and Olympus not. I hope the sole of the Olympus holds up since I’ve been rough on my provisions and their falling apart. The Olympus seems more like my paradigm 5 with the soles and slightly higher heel lift. I just hope they don’t fall apart.

Runs Small - But Runs Well

Part of the rating is due to the seller who did not note that the shoes/brand run small, and who never replied when I reached out about it.So, yes, size up half a size. Other than that, very comfortable, didn't break the in before wearing them on a short trip while I had leftover blisters from the last trip, and all was well. Hilarious and cartoony looking.

Zero drop with support

Lightweight, great support of center of foot which helps when standing all day. Zero drop means the shoe is made ergonomically to fit the natural balance of the foot. Toe box is spacious- no toe squishing! Several lacing options, mesh top for breathability, comfort all the way around. I stand 6-7 hours at work. This shoe has saved me from front of the foot pain since the zero drop prevents my toes from smacking the front of the shoe. It took me awhile to find a shoe for my sensitive feet so highly recommended by me and by my podiatrist who treated my issues for 15 months. The price is little compared to the value of foot health. Do the try before buy, and wear at home.I work in an environment where there is water on the floor and food; I have not slipped when wearing the Altra shoes; however, water will go through the mesh; I’m careful to a tee.
