Best shoes I’ve worn
These shoes did not take me that long to get used to, since I was already wearing pretty crappy chucks with no support. So these actually felt as if they were significantly sturdier compared to those. However, I wore the Brooks Ghost shoes for long walks or trips to theme parks. My first time wearing the Xeros to a theme park (Legoland NY, which is extremely hilly), I was a little anxious about them and worried about hurting my feet, but they were fine. Most recently, I went to Disneyland, and that is what made me decide I needed to review these. Disney is a lot of walking and a lot of standing. It was my first trip to a Disney resort for a multi day stay that I did not get blisters on my feet. I was definitely tired after about nine miles a day for three days, but I never got a blister. Invariably, every other shoe would eventually give me blisters after that much walking and standing for three consecutive days. For me, I think this is mainly due to finally having a wide enough toe box. I also recovered from muscle soreness MUCH faster than I anticipated after that much walking and loitering. I have more or less stopped wearing any other type of shoe, and I ordered the winter boots from the Xero website, which are functional and pretty cute, too. I’d recommend a subtle color if you have a larger foot, as the bright pink shoes felt like they’d look like clown shoes if they were much larger (I’m an 8.5). But they really look fine. I highly, highly recommend these.

Great shoes for re-training your feet
I'd been suffering from a torn tendon for about a year - going to a podiatrist and in physical therapy, trying every "supportive" shoe in the market, inserting arch supports in them all, and listening to my podiatrist when she said I should never walk barefoot again. By luck and chance, I decided to start working with a well-educated trigger point therapist and the first thing he said was "why are you wearing arch supports when you already have high arches??". Good question. If my arches are already high, then supporting them means causing them to arch even more, pulling on the tendons around my foot. As he said, humans were born without shoes so we should be walking around as if we don't have them on. But we as civilized humans want to protect our feet from the elements, nature and man-made.He recommended I try barefoot shoes and after ordering the Prio Cross Trainers from Xero shoes, wearing them for a few weeks and realizing they are some of the most comfy shoes I've worn in years, I decided to buy another pair, but this time for longer walks and run/walks with my dogs.NOTE: I ordered another size 8.5 and again, they are true to size! I like the snug feel around my narrow foot and heel, the inner sole of the shoe doesn't rub wrong in any places (not on top, not on the bottom), and while the laces stay put when walking, you'll need to double-knot them when running.I do run in these, and yes, you will feel every pound of pressure placed on your feet when running in these shoes, so I'm not sure they're great for every type of runner or those who run long distances. But, for the average morning run, and for someone who has had recent foot/tendon problems, they are doing the trick in helping me regain my natural gait.
