excellent boots.

amazons try before you buy just rocks. these boots were stiff and looked narrow when i got them but they are xeros and no padding so i thought that might be partially why. i tried them for 3 days on a treadmill 30 min a day at incline 8 and gradually moved to zero... first day, stiff but not bad at all... 2nd day more broken in, i liked them and thought i'd keep them but tried a 3rd day.. 3rd day way more broken in - felt really great ... so i purchased them and then i took them out in the desert.. they were even better on the trail than on the treadmill ( makes sense, they are made for the trail ). the fit was great, my foot didn't move around and the toe box was plenty big enough that my toes weren't crampled. really great boots... love that they are xero's .. love the feel.... love the boot. it just needed a couple days of break -in and they are great.

comfy and warm

Don't like that they can't make the sizes meet traditional ones, if I have to wear a "size" that is exactly one size large then rename the sizes. the toe box is no where near as roomy as most barefoot shoes. A little tight at first but stretches to a comfortable size in a few days. my loves are that they are warm in snow and freezing temps my feet are warm even with thin socks. the look of them is nice all the others seemed to be made of house shoe materials.

Half size up

Two complaints, narrow toe box for a barefoot shoe, and the sizing is e x a c t, so if you get your regular size, your toes will hit the front.Half size up is ok, the ankle is tight and will keep your foot from sliding around. The ankle is stiff, and the waterproof membrane makes a crinkle sound, but I expect at least one of those to get better over time.Other than that, they're great. I needed waterproof shoes for a rainy trip and am embracing the barefoot era of my life.2 month update: I wear these to work, and they definitely softened up. I don't notice the toe issue anymore. Most days, I only use the first set of quick cinch loops, and it wears like any other shoe. There is still a crinkle noise, but it's better. Overall, I might still suggest a size up, but your normal size can work too.

Sizing chart is wrong

They run too short. Follow size chart instructions and order at least 1 full size above indicated.

Lightweight and waterproof

Lightweight and waterproof.I never wore em prior to going hiking in the mountains of Tennessee. Which I know isnt optimal, but time wasn't on my side lol. First day, they were a tad stiff, but I broke em in. No rubbing, no blisters. Next day, they were super comfy. They're light and not bulky like my Merrels. I bought wanting something not heavy. They were perfect and I hiked down into the Twin Falls state park in TN and through water and they stayed dry the whole time. Highly recommend these shoes.

Had to buy inserts, not supportive enough on own

I bought these for hiking and I got them specifically because I was looking for boots that were not made from leather (not a ton of options out there), and the lightweight design sounded appealing. They’re fine, comfortable at first and lightweight, but after my first few walks in them, I would notice my feet giving out about 40 minutes in. I have plain old walking shoes with better support. I did buy some shoe inserts to mitigate this issue and it seems to have solved that. The initial design doesn’t provide enough support and it’s not comfortable at all, my feet were hurting so much without the inserts.
