Attractive, Nice Fitting Boots, That Seem Up to The Task!

I’m a little reluctant to write a full evaluation because our fall–winter season hasn’t arrived yet, and that’s when these boots will show their true value. Still, I feel obliged to share my impressions now, since it will be several weeks before I will be able to do practical field testing of these boots, so here are my key points. These boots are very attractive — they look great on or off. The sides are nylon, which appears durable and resistant to weather and abrasion. The sizing runs true; as someone who needs wider/larger sizes (bigfoot territory), I was pleased to find the fit congruent with my needs. I’ve been wearing them around the house (a bit of “clomping”), and they feel comfortable right out of the box with no break-in required — a real plus. The sole has deep lugs that look promising for traction on snow and ice, which is my main concern for a winter boot. While I can’t fully test them until the season hits, the construction of the sole and the overall build feel solid. The boots strike a nice balance: they’re robust enough to suggest durability without being so heavy or clunky that walking feels awkward — unlike some heavy winter boots that feel as though one has cement blocks on your feet. One practical idea: I’m considering replacing the laces with stretchy (elastic) laces so I can step in and out without re-tying. Since winter gear already makes bending and tying boots a chore (coats, scarves, hats), this tiny modification would significantly improve convenience — and would be a smart design feature for boot makers to consider. In short: attractive, well-constructed, true-to-size, comfortable immediately, and likely very good in winter conditions based on construction. I’d like to do a full field test in real winter weather but based on what I’ve experienced and compared to other boots I’ve owned, I confidently recommend these. Highly recommended. Should any areas of concern emerge come Winter with the advent of the inevitable snow and ice, I will definitely come back to do a brief update.

A Nice, Comfortable Cold Weather Boot

My husband LOVES these boots! They have a rugged tread and waterproof outer shell. The bottom, dark brown part is NOT the PVC type material i was expecting. We were pleasantly surprised that it is a flexible material that doesn't conduct the cold like PVC does. My husband said these are very comfortable and fit true to size. His feet have flattened a bit with age so while he isn't a true wide width, he is kind of in between (his little toe busts out regular width shoes but wide width is too wide). He said these are perfect for his width so, if you have narrow feet, you're going to need multiple pairs of thick socks. He found the cushioning very comfortable and the boots quite functional overall. I highly recommend these for snow, rain and/or messy outdoor work!

Tough and built to last

I’ve been putting these boots through the paces for several weeks now, and what strikes me most is how extremely tall they are — they cover well past the ankle and offer serious shin support. The construction feels uncompromising: thick leather, reinforced stitching, and a substantially chunky sole that adds both height and rugged durability. They’re heavy — expect them to feel noticeable on your feet, especially during long wear or walking. Break-in took some days, but once the leather softened a bit they became much more manageable. If you want a boot that’s more about protection and presence (rather than lightweight agility), these hit hard.

Nice comfortable boots

XPETI Men’s Ontario Winter Duck BootI ordered these boots because they actually come in a size 12.5. I have size 12 feet but I always order winter boots in a larger size so my winter socks fit well in the boot. Unfortunately, most companies don’t make half sizes after size 12 so I always had to order size 13 which makes the boots a bit awkward to wear. I found that these had a size 12.5 and had to try them out. They fit great and don’t feel like I’m trying to walk around with swim fins on. The insulation is thick and the boots are comfortable. The treads have nice deep lugs and look like they will give good traction. Overall, the boots look pretty solid. I haven’t had a chance to try them out in the snow yet since summer is just coming to an end. I’m giving them 5 stars for now but I’ll update if they don’t hold up for winter weather.

Great Winter Duck Boots with quality build, style and relatively lightweight

Growing up in Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota, I learned a few things about winter and having good boots was a must. These boots remind me of those years yet with a more lightweight design and stylish approach. I have yet to use them in winter as I got them to prepare for the winter months up in the mountains. I now live in the high desert of Arizona and during the winter months, snow does accumulate on some of the mountains at higher elevations as does it in the ski resort up on Mt Lemmon in the Tucson area. I don't know if I will end up taking them in snow or just have them for working around the house during the winter but I really like these boots and am looking forward to using them. Real leather and canvas uppers and a solid outer lower mold allow for what they call a waterproof build. The look of the boot is appealing and I like the lighter weight design that doesn't lend to the clumsy feel boots of this size normally have.

Excellent winter boots from Xpeti! Reasonable price.

Excellent winter boots from Xpeti! I love these boots. My favorite color. I have to say that they run a half size large. I knew this from another pair of boots I had purchased from them in the past. I usually wear 8.5 in boots, but I ordered 8. They fit great. I can still wear wool socks in them fine. They are very comfortable. I even put them on and ran them under cold water. My feet are still dry. They also fit perfectly in my backcountry ski strap bindings. Oh... I almost forgot. Very reasonably priced.

Sturdy and well built

These are awesome heavy duty boots. The tread is great and provides a lot of good grip in the snow and the rubber around the toes and heels helps keep your feet dry. The top is sturdy but not too restrictive. They also look nice and well made.Excited to use these in the first snow!
