Reminds me of old Made in USA XtraTuff

This pair of XtraTuff reminds me of my old Made In USA XtraTuff which were better before production moved to China. Owned many Chinese produced pairs and they weren't as good and would tear the rubber which is death for them. The heels also wore out quickly. So far this pair is holding up. Seems better quality. I used to sell them and also wear them on commercial fishing boats. This pair is solid. Not sure why it has a green seam. Reminds me of my Made in USA with a black seam - which is also different than most pairs. Anyway, fits well, holding up

Girls! Flexible and Lightweight, But Thin Soles.

So far, I really like these boots. I will have to see if these boots fall apart in the near future as some reviewers say.I have been looking for some durable, all-rubber, tall lightweight mud boots with good traction that fit a WOMAN'S feet that can be worn on our property in the winter in the Santa Cruz Mountain Range in the Bay Area here. I need them to walk through mud, on rocks, wet logs, in rain and through tall sticky weeds without having those weed seeds stick to my boots.I wear women’s size 8.5 shoes and ordered both the men's 7's and men's 8's to try. The 8's were too large and my heels were swimming around inside. The 7’s fit really well even with super thick socks and insoles added.I've tried Muckboots and Kamik boots. They were too heavy and unwieldy, inflexible, too large and clunky, and the Muckboots had soft, neoprene-like material on the top half that weed seed pods would have stuck to. So I had to send those back. I have narrow heels, and my heels just flopped around inside of both those brands! I wish all those boots came in sizes for: 1) women and 2) half-sizes.I also own LLBean Storm Chaser boots which would work well if they came in a taller model. I own two pairs of Sorel snow boots, but they have wool liners that protrude above the top that would grab the weed seeds. These XTRA Tuff boots also do not come in women's or half-sizes, but they fit the best, are lightweight and flex well at the ankle. I do wish they were more rugged in the outer foot area for rock and vegetation abuse. They also could fit snugger in the heel, but I wear these with a thick sock which seems to ameliorate that problem well enough. They also could use more padding in the insole as they are really thin so I added a cheap insole I already had but you could probably fit a better quality one in there too, and if I weren’t so lazy, I’d buy a better one and put it in instead.I really wanted mud boots but short of buying regular rainboots, these are the best compromise in lightweight, flexible and all-rubber boots for women’s sizing.Btw, the title lists these as 16” but the box says 15” and they are 15”. These were made in China, and so far, I am happy with them and they are holding up fine.**edit update** I've now worn these rubber boots for several years every winter on our muddy, wet 5 acre property in CA, and they have lasted great! The rubber flexes, and they are vey comfortable! They haven't cracked or developed any holes, and I abuse them over rocky, muddy earth. I'm going to get a pair for my son, I've had to buy him the same rubber rainboots 3 times now, as they wear out too fast. I'm going to try this brand on him to see if they last more than one winter for him.

You get what you get

I was so torn about whether or not to buy Xtratuf again after the last pair, but I found this black pair and really wanted black rain boots. It sucks because they’re SO comfortable, I love the arch and ankle support and I love them being neoprene and not rubber, but like everyone says, their quality has significantly decreased since they began to manufacture overseas. My last pair leaked the first time I wore them. My feet never actually got wet but you could hear the water squishing around inside the soles. They were from the Salmon Sisters line and more flimsy neoprene than my boyfriend’s so I thought maybe they were just a different design. These are definitely more stiff than the Salmon Sisters legacy boot I have. Not sure why they would do that but whatever. I wish I had taken a picture now but I wanted to fix them before I wore them … these boots have cotton twine sealed inside the bottom edge of the soles, and both boots had the ends of that twine hanging out about a quarter inch on the heel. I’d never seen that before. I thought it was strange it was on both boots, having that string hanging out would create a wick for water to get inside the the sole. What’s the point of them being triple dipped if they’re going to have actual water wicks sticking out on the heels? I burnt them off as far as I could, wiped down the area with rubbing alcohol and smoothed a dot of Shoe Goo over where they were sticking out. It’s not in a flexible area so I hope it holds. My Salmon Sisters were like $56 on Amazon in late 2022 so I wasn’t super heartbroken when they turned out to be junk but I paid full price for these black legacy boots. I’m assuming other pairs will have this same weird wick in the back. That should not be there. I’m keeping them because I do like them, I just think the price point doesn’t make sense if the quality has tanked so much, and I don’t expect them to last a super long time. I haven’t worn them near water yet, if I see bubbles, I’ll be back. Other than that, yes they are super comfortable and I absolutely love the color

Xtra tuff boots are great.

I have worn borrowed xtra tuff boots in AK. They are very popular in AK. The boots are comfortable and nice to wear in muddy, wet environments.
