I've put these through their paces: weeks building a fence in rain and snow. They're grippy, warm, and comfortable all day long. My favorite cold weather shoe, hands down.The one downside is that the soles hold and track in quite a bit of dirt, but they're easy enough to hose off at the end of the day.
Tested these out in ND/MT on a cold, snowy day in January as soon as I got them. Definitely much more traction on ice than my other 3 pair of normal XTRATUF boots/deck shoes, plus they are warm and comfortable like all the normal XT products are. If you plan to wear really thick socks I would suggest sizing up, but my normal size fit good with a normal pair of wool hiking socks on.
I asked other buyers about fit with thick fleece socks.All said should not be a problem.Normally wear 10 1/2 so ordered 11Day after I got them we got a small wet snow.Being fleeced line and the heavy socks plenty warm and dry!The heel straps help these old hands pull on. The straps to the front I haven’t had to use, the straps are reflective.Price is a little higher the other quality brands but having first heard about this brand while reading a book about a US Marshal up at point Barrow AK explaining his pack out for that area.
Nice and warm but not breathable at all. So if your feet sweat at all these arnt for you.
On the homestead I'm on my feet 12-14 hours a day and these are the most comfortable boots I've worn ever no need for Dr sholls. It hasn't been extremely cold yet here only minus 3 so I haven't truly tested the insulation but they are excellent on ice great traction. Thanks for making a product I can count on to keep my feet warm dry and comfortable it truly makes my life better.
I gave them as a gift and they loved the warmth and thickness of the soles.
